Certification

All birds slaughtered at Rainbow facilities are hand slaughtered under Islamic Rites and strict Halaal supervision. All Rainbow products are Halaal.

Two national and official governing bodies certify our compliance, the Muslim Judicial Council (MJC) and the South African National Halaal Association (SANHA).

Regular plant audits are carried out by both bodies to ensure compliance, while inspectors are also present at all facilities.

HACCP is an internationally recognised system devised by the food industry that focuses on food safety. Compliance with HACCP is integrated in Rainbow's Total Quality Management (TQM) system and all sites operate according to HACCP procedures.

HACCP accreditation is audited on an annual basis by the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS).
