Chickens are slaughtered by Halaal slaughterers and all ingredients used for Rainbow brands have Halaal status.
Inspectors from the south African National Halaal Authority and the Muslim Judicial Council ensure that all practices are in accordance with Halaal standards.
With regards to the Halaal labeling on our products: Our consumers are our first priority and in order for consumers to make an informed choice with regards our products, we provide information to key interest groups. This includes providing information on the nutritional content, allergies, heart healthy choices and religious beliefs of our consumers (including Muslim groups – Halaal). We understand that not all the information that we provide is relevant to all our consumers but believe that all people, including minority groups, have a right to choice and where possible we provide the information that enables them to make an informed purchase. To this end, we ensure that the labeling on our products does not exclude any of our consumers.
